Who doesn't love a good bowl of warm, steaming ramen? There's something about slurping the noodles that's so comforting. Ultimate winter food don't you think? Even though it's not winter yet, Sydney's had some pretty crazy weather that's been all over the place lately and despite it currently being summer, there's been some cold wintery days too! Though it has been heating up this past week... What is with that?
Tenkomori is the brother store of Menya Mappen and Oiden where you line up cafeteria style, pick your ramen base and add on anything else that takes your fancy from the hot bar or cold dishes!
Tonkotsu butter corn ramen, large $7.30 |
Chicken kara-age, $2.20 & takoyaki, $2.00 |
Tonkotsu curry ramen, regular $6.30 & mushroom salad, $1.80 (I think) |
If you're up for something quick, and something cheap then this place is it.

Hubby loves ramen and he doesn't work too far from here so I'll suggest it to him for lunch! :)
ReplyDeleteA cheap lunch it will be!
DeleteNot a fan of this place I'm sad to say. Pity as it's so convenient.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is convenient but oh dear, what didn't you like about it? :(
DeleteWe were going to eat there the other day. We arrived but they were renovating the place around it so it smelled all... nauseatingly paint-like. So we went to another place.
ReplyDeleteI hate that smell of paint! Thank goodness it didn't when we ate there D:
DeleteI like the side dishes here but didn't really rate the ramen.
ReplyDeleteI found the ramen ok - not anything spectacular, but nothing horrible either. Side dishes are always awesome!
DeleteLove exploring new ramen places! I'm so excited to read your post about it, can't wait to try it soon :)
ReplyDeleteThere's so many ramen places in Sydney as well! It's awesome checking new ones out :D
DeleteCurry ramen also makes me a bit apprehensive - I picture Indian curry in noodle soup form and it doesn't sound appealing - curious to know are there any differences between Japanese and Indian curry?
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely differences in flavour! I haven't had many Indian curries so I wouldn't know too much about it, but the Japanese seem to eat their curry in a lot of weird ways! Or at least non-conventional to the likes us us :P
